BTS – A typical Trainee’s Christmas

With all of the entertainment issues in 2024 and the ongoing New Jeans HYBE saga on the mainstream stage, today’s entry to the advent calendar might be the most fitting song to represent 2024 and the current K-pop landscape.
An adaptation of Kanye West‘s “Christmas in Harlem“, the song also sees inspiration from the Wham! The song “Last Christmas“. Filled with incredible raps from the group’s rappers and vocals of the iconic Christmas song.
A tale of pre-debut life, the song does an incredible job of telling the hardships that idols go through around Christmas in a joyful but serious matter. The song is a perfect introduction to the abilities of the BTS boys.
Now, 13 years later and after a successful career becoming K-pop’s biggest group, “A Typical Trainee’s Christmas” lives as a perfect nostalgia trip to the beginning of the BTS boy’s career.
As we approach Christmas, idols continue to work hard for our entertainment and will continue to do so over the holidays. Let’s use this song as a reminder of the incredible effort and love we receive from the K-pop world.
