Its the most wonderful time of the year. In Korea, Christmas is a day for friends and family as well as a time for consuming entertainment be it Television or music.

Here, we have chosen our favourite 25 songs released from the world of K-pop ranging from first generation bands to songs released as recently as 2024.

Out of a list of 50 classic Christmas songs, we could only pick 25, so for those of you wanting to explore more, check out our compiled playlist of K-pop Christmas songs here.

Girls’ Generation TTS – Dear Santa

One of K-pop’s most legendary agencies SM Entertainment aren’t shy to Christmas songs  with many of their idols releasing Christmas songs it will be a sOne of K-pop’s most legendary agencies, SM Entertainment, isn’t shy when it comes to Christmas songs. With many of their idols releasing Christmas songs, it will be a surprise to no one that they will be featuring a couple of times in this advent calendar.

Kicking off the first SM Town entry, we have one of the company’s most legendary groups, Girls Generation’s TTS. Compiled with three of Girls Generation’s strongest vocalists, Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun, their debut album reached major success across Korea, becoming the first subgroup to achieve a triple crown in Korea. 

‘Dear Santa‘ comes as the group’s third EP and features a range of great songs, showcasing the incredible talent and vocals of the girls. Any song from this album could have been featured on this advent calendar.

Ultimately, we chose the title track and lead song of the EP “Dear Santa“, a versatile song which, from the intro, demonstrates the girl’s incredible ballad-style harmonisation before changing tempo after a signature Girls Generation ab-lib, the overall happy-go-lucky paired with the infectious joyful energy of the girls makes for a perfect Christmas song and entry to this advent calendar.
