Hello and welcome to K-pop Bangsong, established in 2017. The show was created as a passion project by a 17-year-old Media student learning radio who had gotten into K-pop a couple of years older.

Introduced by a friend through a boy group (90% sure it was B.A.P). The mixture of vocals and sounds was something completely different from what I had heard my entire life. Exploring the genre more, I fell in love with Ailee and K.will, some of K-pop’s most powerful vocalists at the time. I also fell in love with idol content falling in love with the likes of SHINee, EXO BTS, and BIGBANG. The genre provided me a break from reality during what was at the time, one of the most difficult times of my life.

I owe a lot to K-pop and all of the aspects that the genre and idols can have on your life. Providing me with the help I most needed, it has introduced me to new friends and some of my most memorable days.

And that’s the aim of K-pop Bangsong, introducing K-pop and various Korean music genres to new audiences and providing a safe space for all those looking to listen to new artists. They maybe wouldn’t ordinarily be listening to.
